so i was talking to yvette after the sydney get together and we got talking about a NATIONAL grobie meet up.....can u just imagine how that would turn out!!!
anyhow, i said i would come on here tonight and throw the idea out there so if people could reply to say whether they would be interested/not interested....
yvette and i were talking bout making it in sydney...its sort of central, theres meaning there for a lot of us and i guess we have our 'grobie hideaway' and its kinda midway for melbourne, brisbane, adelaide (but us perthies will have a way to go....). we were thinking about september....anniversary of the concerts, plus enough time for people to save any money they may need to save.
we can look at getting together at a hotel or wherever....dvds, cds, photos, memories, drinky-poos, champers, dinner at 'grobie' extra....the list goes on!!!
in my opinion, i would LOVE to have a whole one of those jet boats full of grobies!!!!

Sounds very interesting, as long as it was in the second half of the year. As you know, Chess in London is my priority at the moment. ;D ;D ;D

Loretta, I thought you were joking about the bus! But the September gathering definitely sounds like a great idea!

Just throwing this out there - I'm already scheduled to come to Sydney for the first weekend in October (4-6 Oct 2008). But the thing is that it's the Labor Day long weekend so you guys may have plans to go away...
(I'm coming down for the NRL grand final on the Sunday night)

Sounds good to me too, although anyone flying to Sydney may find flights and/or accomodation a bit more expensive since it's a long weekend, as well as surcharges at restaurants etc...haven't checked prices though so I may be wrong. In terms of availability I'm free...I don't have anything planned for that weekend ;D

Wow... you guys have things planned that far ahead??? I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing next week!!! I'm pretty sure I should be alright for that weekend, although the 4th is my godbrother's birthday so I might have something on that day... but otherwise... that sounds like a plan!!!

;D That will be fantastic! I want to finally meet all you wonderful people. Although it would be very interesting to hear what my parents think of that idea. They'll probably push me to finally get a job to haul myself over to Sydney, like my brother. -_-" I should. The dates at this point sound pretty good. I do have another suggestion for the Grobanites in other states. Perhaps they can help each other raise funds. The same thing happens every year when I go to Christian teen camps in NSW and Vic. Our church raises money and sponsors me and the other teens here in Adelaide to go to the camp. Of course it all depends on who wants to go. ^_^ Just a suggestion.

Maybe the Grobanites in sydney can help too! Like we can do our best to keep the costs down, but we don't have to travel or anything, so maybe we can support your fundraising efforts..
