i dont know about the legality issue of copyrighting published recipes but the only problem i can think of them having in terms of copyright is maybe what you call the recipe...but if we were to make the recipe names connected to josh in someway (just an idea, u dont have to like it! lol) then i cant imagine why there would be a problem with that. i mean, there are recipes that people copy all over the world...surely everyone that has ever written a cookbook didnt come up with all the recipes themselves?
if there was an issue though, im sure if there was a page at the back offering a website link or a reference page to where the original recipe came from, it should be ok....
lol....i know its not REAL law (as in all aspects) but look what a semester of media law has done to me...i cant help but throw my 2 cents into legal issues now!!!

What about some christmas hampers for the farmers affected by drought? Have we heard back from Grobanites for charity yet?

No not yet...I'm thinking we just go ahead with what we want to do, we just don't put Josh or the Foundation's name on it...we just sell what we have and send them a cheque...what do you think?
re: hampers...great idea, but they cost a fair bit to put together...also there are a number of registered charities that do hampers, such as Anglicare, SVDP, etc. I don't know either if we'd have to get some kind of clearance to send food to people...I mean in terms of quality assurance, making sure nothing in the hamper goes bad etc. They'd have to be transported to the farmers etc too and I don't think we have the means to do so... I don't mean to be so negative but I just don't know if we can pull it off...sorry! What does everyone else think? I might be quite wrong about some of these things.

Well I know there is one charity who are donating toys to the children in drought...I read it in my magazine...ABC are doing that... We could always donate 10c of the sales of our recipe books to the farmers... And Lauren being a media law genius can be a good thing!! ;D

I can do a calendar up if you like! Great idea Kirsty! I have a calendar template, all I need to do is set it up for 2008 and find some awesome pics! (shouldn't be too hard lol ) Unless anyone else is particularly keen to do it, I don't mind...

wow what a great response..but i cannot be given all the credit...it was lily (canumosh) who asked whether a calender had ever been made before...and then i thought it would be a great fundraiser..since we were looking for something different..well its never been done b4 from what i know....

Wonder if some of our Grobie friends overseas would be interested in the calendar? Should be able to pick up a few more dollars that way.
